TSTC West Texas Regional Fire Academy

Do you want to be a fire fighter? The Fire Academy meets the state curriculum requirements for certification as a basic firefighter in Texas. Most fire departments require applicants to complete the necessary training for a basic firefighter before they take a fire department entrance exam. Students accepted into the Fire Academy must also complete the Basic Emergency Medical Technician course in order to receive state certification. The EMT basic course is included in the Fire Academy. The TSTC West Texas Regional Fire Academy is certified by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection and the Texas Department of State Health Services.

The Fire Academy consists of three consecutive semesters starting with the Fall semester:

Application deadline for the Fall 2008 Fire Academy is June 20, 2008.

It is the student's responsibility to schedule CPT testing and have scores turned in with the application on time. Students may schedule a time to test by contacting the TSTC Test Center at 325-734-3641.
